Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how guidey.lk ("we", "us", "the site") handles information when you visit. The site is operated by vCreate in Sri Lanka. We follow the Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022 of Sri Lanka, and Google's publisher policies.

1. Who this site is for

The site is intended for parents, guardians and teachers. The learning materials are for children, but children should use them with an adult. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the site has no sign-up, comments, chat or forms for children.

2. Information we collect

• Information you send us: if you email us, we receive your email address and message. We use it only to reply and delete it when it is no longer needed.
• Technical information: like all websites, our hosting provider records basic technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.
• We do not require accounts, collect names, phone numbers or addresses, or sell personal information.

3. Advertising and Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to show ads on our English-language pages. This is how we keep the materials free.

• Because our content is for young children, we tag our ad requests for child-directed treatment. This tells Google to turn off personalised (interest-based) advertising and remarketing for these ads, and to apply its policies for child-directed content.
• Google and its partners may still use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads, limit how often you see an ad, measure performance and prevent fraud. These are not used to build an advertising profile from visits to our child-directed pages.
• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites, where personalised advertising is permitted. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this and/or other sites on the internet.
• You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com. You can also visit www.aboutads.info to opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies.
• Visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are shown a consent message before any advertising cookies are used.

4. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Our own pages do not set cookies. Advertising cookies may be set by Google as described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the materials will still download normally.

4a. Visitor statistics

We count visits to understand which materials are useful. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or track you across websites. If we use Google Analytics, it is set up with Google signals and ad personalisation turned off, and we never send it names, emails or phone numbers.

5. Fonts

Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers. See Google's privacy policy for details.

6. Your rights

Under Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act you may ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, such as an email you sent us. Contact vcreate.admin@gmail.com.

7. Future accounts

We plan to offer optional accounts verified by phone number in the future, for purchasing premium materials. Accounts will be for adults only. Before launch we will update this policy to explain exactly what is collected and why, and the change will be shown on this page.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The "last updated" date above shows the latest version.
