Skills your child practises
- Letter-sound matching
- Sinhala vocabulary
- Early reading
- Memory
How to use it at home
- Print on thick paper or glue onto old cereal boxes so the cards last longer.
- Play a matching game: lay out letter cards and picture cards and ask your child to pair them.
- Hide a few cards around the room and ask your child to find the card that starts with a sound you say.
- Add two or three new cards a week instead of all of them at once.
Printing tips
- Print on A4 paper at 100% (actual size), not 'fit to page'.
- Black-and-white printing is fine; children will add the colour.
- Slip pages into a plastic sleeve and use a whiteboard marker to reuse them many times.
